WJI Buzz - Chu, Chute, Moncada, Moon

Elbert Chu ('09) is an intern at the New York Times SchoolBook and student at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Chu is a graduate of Michigan State University and can be reached at connect@elbertchu.com.

Michael Chute (guest teacher '11) was named Journalism Educator of the Year at the Southeast Journalism Conference. Chute is a journalism professor at Union University. His students received 14 awards in the “Best of the South” competition at the conference. Chute can be reached at mchute@uu.edu.

Katlyn Moncada ('11) won first place for best multimedia journalist at the “Best of the South” competition at the Southeast Journalism Conference. Moncada is a student at Union University, and can be reached at katlyn.moncada@gmail.com.

Ruth Moon ('08) is a general assignment and Native American beat reporter for the Rapid City Journal in South Dakota (circ. 30,000). She has written stories about the Pine Ridge Reservationbuffalo disputesrodeos and military affairs. Moon is a graduate of Wheaton College and can be reached at ruth.c.moon@gmail.com.
