WJI Buzz - Cheng, Einselen, Hagan, McDill

Evelyn Cheng (‘10) has been awarded a WJI internship stipend to be an editorial research intern at the New York Times Shanghai Bureau in China. Cheng is a student at New York University.

Sarah Einselen (‘10) was recently promoted to news editor at the Logansport (Ind.) Pharos-Tribune, where she was previously a staff reporter. She was selected to attend the WJI Top Grads Conference in Washington, D.C., this October. Einselen is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Seth Hagan (‘12) has been awarded a WJI-funded internship at WJOX FM in Birmingham, Ala. He will assist with production of on-air programming and maintain the digital and internet based aspects of the show, including podcast interviews and updating and maintaining station websites. He will also screen calls during broadcasts and develop and produce on-air segments. You may even hear him on the air from time to time. Hagan is a graduate of Montevallo University, where he was named Mass Communication Student of the Year after graduation.

Stephen McDill (‘06) is an award-winning staff writer and video journalist for the Mississippi Business Journal in Jackson, Mississippi. He recently covered the effects of Hurricane Isaac for MBJ-TV.
