Bryan Chapell


Bryan Chapell is President and Professor of Practical Theology at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Chapell has served as President of Covenant since 1994 and began teaching at Covenant Seminary in 1984 after ten years in pastoral ministry. Before becoming President, he served for six years as Vice President for Academics and Dean of Faculty. Christ-Centered Preaching has established him as one of the nation's most respected teachers of homiletics.

In addition to Christ-Centered Preaching, Dr. Chapell has written: The Promises of Grace, In the Grip of Grace, Using Illustrations to Preach with Power, Each for the Other, The Wonder of It All, 1&2 Timothy: To Guard the Deposit (with R. Kent Hughes), Holiness by Grace, Praying Backwards the children's book I'll Love You Anyway and Always, and many articles. Dr. Chapell holds degrees from Northwestern University, Covenant Theological Seminary, and Southern Illinois University.
