Judith Howard Ellis


Judith Howard Ellis is the team leader for the Breaking News Team at The Denver Post. She is responsible for a team of seven reporters and two editors whose major role is to create a lively online report as well as contribute to the print edition of the paper. Before taking on this role in July, Judith was the associate editor for innovation. The focus of that position included finding ways the newspaper could improve its core strengths while moving aggressively forward in a media-rich world. She also is the former features editor at The Post.

Before arriving in Denver in November 2002, Judith worked at the Belo Corporation in various positions over a 14-year period. For 10 years, she was a reporter with The Dallas Morning News, where she held several beats, including serving as a religion writer. For three years, Judith was an editor at The Dallas Morning News' now defunct sister paper, the Arlington Morning News. She also worked one year on the business side of The Dallas Morning News in community services. Her previous experience also includes working as a reporter at The Star-Gazette and St. Louis American. She also operated her own writing firm for nearly three years.
