Lisa Jones-Townsel

St. Louis Post Dispatch

Lisa Jones Townsel is the Fashion Editor with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper, where she covers local and national style trends and offers commentary from New York Fashion Week. During her tenure, she was in the precarious position of covering the attacks on the World Trade Center as she was in Manhattan when it occurred. Prior to her work in fashion, Townsel was the Health and Beauty writer for the Post-Dispatch. Before returning to her hometown of St. Louis, she worked in Chicago for Johnson Publishing Company as an Associate Editor with Ebony magazine, covering topics ranging from women in politics and the end of apartheid to the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Her professional career began as an Editorial Trainee with Country Home magazine, a Better Homes and Gardens publication. Her work as a features writer has received top honors, including awards from the Missouri Associated Press and the American Academy of Dermatology. Townsel received her Bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has actively mentored youth since graduation. Today, she resides in a northern St. Louis suburb with her college-sweetheart husband and their two sons.

"I'm excited that students and speakers alike will be encouraged to see how God works in the details, how it's possible to be true to your beliefs and your profession and how each person's experience is uniquely different. I think it's going to be a weekend of encouragement and renewal." -  Lisa Jones Townsel, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
